Miracles and Jesus Christ.

Miracle of the Vanishing Relic

Julio 13 years old woke in the night with severe head pain, he was rushed to hospital where doctors operated to find that two blood vessels burst in his brain. After the operation his parents were told he would be a vegetable and only had a 1% chance of survival. He was in a coma.
A friend came with a relic of St John Newman, it was a chip of his bone. She told Julios mum that she would like to place it on Julios body as he lay in the coma. Adel told her that a little boy was cured by a relic of St John Newman 10 years before in the same hospital. Weeks turned into months with no change to Julios condition. Then after 3 months something mysterious happened, the relic vanished. Anna Marian was troubled but her friend Adel saw it as a sign, she told Anna Maria that the relic placed on the other little boy ten years ago had also mysteriously vanished just before the boys cure. Not long after Julio woke up, he looked at his mum and said Mum, hello, where is John? Later, he went on to tell the story of how a little boy visited him while he slept. The boy said open your eyes and wake up.
When Julio came home the parents took him to St John Newmans shrine to thank the saint for his prayers, and God for the miracle. Whilst there Julio saw a picture of a young boy Thats my friend, the one who visited me, he told his mother. The picture was of John Newman as a boy! Relics have been used since Apostolic times. (see Acts 19:11 & 12)

The Miracle at the Tomb of Sr Faustina

Before the age of 15, Maureen Digan enjoyed a normal healthy life. Then she was struck down with a very serious, slowly progressive and terminal disease called Lymphedima. This is a disease that does not respond to medication and does not go into remission. Within the next ten years Maureen had 50 operations and had lengthy confinements in Hospital of up to a year at a time. Friends and relations suggested she should pray and put her trust in God. But Maureen could not understand why God had allowed her to get this disease in the first place, and had lost her faith completely. Eventually her deteriorating condition necessitated the amputation of one leg. One evening while Maureen was in hospital her husband Bob went to a film called Divine Mercy No Escape, and there he became convinced of the healing prayers of intercession by Sr Faustina. Bob persuaded Maureen and the Doctors that she should go to the tomb of Sr. Faustina in Poland. They arrived in Poland on March 23rd 1981 and Maureen went to confession for the first time since she was a young girl. At the tomb (now the Shrine of Saint Faustina) Maureen remembers saying in her own inimitable style O.K Faustina, I came a long way, now do something In her heart she heard Sr. Faustina say If you ask for my help, I will give it to you. Suddenly she thought she was having a nervous breakdown. All the pain seemed to drain out of her body and her swollen leg which was due to be amputated shortly, went back to its normal size. When she returned to the U.S.A. she was examined by five independent doctors who came to the conclusion that she was completely healed. They had no medical explanation for the sudden healing of this incurable disease. The accumulated evidence for this miracle was examined in consultation by five doctors appointed by the sacred congregation for the cause of saints, having passed this test it was examined by a team of theologians, and finally by a team of cardinals and bishops. The cure was accepted by all as a miracle caused by Sr. Faustinas intercession to Jesus the Divine Mercy. Sr. Faustina was beatified on 18th April 1993 and she has now been Canonised a Saint.

Miracles of the Holy Name (3)

A devastating plague broke out in Lisbon in 1432. All who could do so fled in terror from the city and thus carried the plague to every corner of the entire country of Portugal.
Thousands of men, women and children of all classes were swept away by the cruel sickness. So virulent was the epidemic that men died everywhere, at the table, in the streets, in their houses, in the shops and in the churches. To use the words of historians, it flashed like lightening from man to man, or from a coat, a hat or any garment that had been used by the plague-stricken. Priests, doctors and nurses were carried off in such numbers that the bodies of many lay unburied in the streets, so that dogs licked up the blood and ate the flesh of the dead becoming as a result themselves infected with the dread disease and spreading it still more widely among the unfortunate people.
Among those who assisted the dying with unflagging zeal was a venerable Bishop, Monsignor Andre Dias, who lived in the Monastery of St. Dominic. This holy man, seeing that the epidemic, far from diminishing, grew every day in intensity, and despairing of human help, urged the unhappy people to call on the Holy Name of Jesus. He was seen wherever the disease was fiercest, urging, imploring the sick and the dying, as well as those who had not yet been stricken down to repeat, Jesus, Jesus. Write it on cards, he said, and keep those cards on your persons; place them at night under your pillows; place them on your doors; but above all constantly invoke with your lips and in your hearts this most powerful Name.
He went about as an angel of peace filling the sick and dying with courage and confidence. The poor sufferers felt within them a new life, and calling on Jesus, they wore the cards on their breast or carried them in their pockets.
Then summoning them to the great Church of St. Dominic, he once more spoke to them of the power of the Name of Jesus and blessed water in the same Holy Name, ordering all the people to sprinkle themselves with it and sprinkle it on the faces of the sick and dying. Wonder of wonders! The sick got well, the dying arose from their agonies, the plague ceased and the city was delivered in a few days from the most awful scourge that had ever visited it.
The news spread to the whole country and all began, with one accord, to call on the Name of Jesus. In an incredibly short time all Portugal was freed from the dread sickness.

Eternal Life found in a Rubbish Bin -Brazil

My father used to get drunk and abuse us constantly. My mother decided to flee to the city, with only the clothes she stood up in, taking her children with her. With no money, no relations or friends, she arranged for a cellar for us to live in and her work as a domestic servant sustained us.
Yet, one day, mother fell sick and doctors could not diagnose what was wrong with her. She stayed in bed, with her body paralysed, and in great pain. My elder sister was seven at the time, and she cooked for us until the food ran out. She went out with my brother to gather the remains of food in garbage bins. Together with the bones that she got from the butcher's she made them into a soup, which did for all our meals. Every day it was the same story.
One day my sister gave my mother a little book and said, "Look what I found in the garbage bin." She wasn't to know that that book would change our lives forever.
On the deathbed, when our mother read the New Testament, Christ touched her life. Suddenly, she got up, moved her legs, and, weeping, said, "Jesus has cured me..." Nobody had ever knocked on our door to speak of Jesus. And, with no one teaching her, she knelt and offered a prayer of thanks to God, asking forgiveness for her sins. With her face bathed in tears, she put her hand against my head and prophesied, "This son of mine will live to speak of this Book".
God confirmed my mothers wish and, at 25 years of age, I took on the role of being called to preach the gospel.

My son, be attentive to My words; incline your ear to My sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart for they are life to him who finds them and healing to all his flesh. (Proverbs 4 v 20 - 23)

Healed of Blindness

"Our son Conchur was born with a benign tumour at the back of his right eye, he had no sight whatsoever in that eye, my husband and I were devastated. The Doctors told us that no man or equipment could make the eye perfect - nothing!
One day, three years ago, a friend said to me, "Eddie Stones is doing a retreat in Belfast. Why don't you try to go?" Going didn't appear possible then, but at the last minute it became possible.
I got talking to Eddie and told him that my son had been born blind in his right eye and that nothing could be done for him. When Eddie prayed with Conchur he told us that he saw a car windscreen with the rain running down the windscreen and the wipers washing the screen clean. He also saw two headlights, one on, and the other was dim. This was all new to me but I did not want to be rude and ask questions.
An hour or so later we were at Mass, and when the priest, Fr.Ronnie Mitchell, lifted up the Host, the most amazing thing happened, and I was to realise the full meaning of Eddie Stones vision.
Conchur's right eye began to run tears; he lifted up his right hand (the wipers) to wipe the tears away (rain). On doing that he turned to me and said, "Mummy I can see out of my bad eye" (which was the dim headlight coming on).
My heart was turning over watching this in front of me. I immediately went to my bag to get pen and paper and I wrote the tiniest letter that I could make. Conchur was able to see it with his up-to-now blind eye. Just before Mass was finished, I went up to the altar to tell Eddie and Fr. Ronnie what had happened. It was a fantastic day. I will never forget it. My son was physically blind and I was spiritually blind. The God I had then is not the God I have now, He is truly alive and I love Him!

"What is impossible with men is possible with God!"
(Luke 18:27)

Miracle Healing

The following testimony is taken from a book entitled The Hand of God written by Fr Martin J Scott S.J.

" On the 17th of December 1899, the Fast Mail Train on the way from Bordeaux to Paris met with a collision. In the mail car was post office express clerk, Gabriel Gargan, he was thirty years of age. At the time of the wreck the train was going at a speed of fifty miles an hour. Gargan was thrown fifty-two feet by the impact. He was terribly broken and he was paralyzed from the waist down. He was barely alive when lifted onto a stretcher.
Taken to a hospital, his existence for sometime was a living death. After eight months he had wasted away to a mere skeleton weighing but seventy-eight pounds, although normally he was a big man. His feet became gangrenous, he could take no solid food and was obliged to take nourishment by a tube.
He brought suit for damages against the railroad. The Appellate Court confirmed the verdict of the former courts and granted him 6,000 francs annually, this was besides an indemnity of 60,000 francs.
Gargan's condition was pitiable in the extreme. He could not help himself even in the most trifling needs. Two trained nurses were needed day and night to assist him. That was Gabriel Gargan as he was after the accident, and as he would continue to be until death relieved him. About his desperate condition there could be no doubt. The railroad fought the case on every point. There was no room for deception or hearsay. Two courts attested to his condition, and the final payment of the railroad left the case a matter of record. Doctors testified that the man was a hopeless cripple for life, and their testimony was not disputed.
Previous to the accident Gargan had not been to church for fifteen years. His Aunt, who was a nun of the order of the Sacred Heart, begged him to go to Lourdes, but he refused. She continued her appeals to him, to place himself in the hands of our Lady of Lourdes, but he was deaf to all her prayers.
Finally, after the continuous pleading of his mother, he consented to go to Lourdes. It was now two years since the accident, and he had not left his bed in all that time. He was carried on a stretcher to the train. The exertion caused him to faint, and for a full hour he was unconscious. They were on the point of abandoning the pilgrimage - as it looked as if he would die on the way, but his mother insisted and the journey was made.
At Lourdes, he went to confession and received Holy Communion, but there was no change in his condition. Later he was carried to the pool and tenderly placed in the waters but with rather a bad effect, as the exertion threw him into a swoon and he lay there apparently dead. After a time, as he did not revive, they thought him dead. Sorrowfully they wheeled the carriage back to the hotel. On the way back they saw the procession of the Holy Eucharist approaching. They stood aside to let it pass, having placed a cloth over the face of the man whom they supposed to be dead.
As the priest passed carrying the Sacred Host, he pronounced benediction over the sorrowful group around the covered body. Suddenly there was a movement from under the covering. To the amazement of the bystanders, the body raised itself to a sitting posture. While the family were looking on dumbfounded and the spectators gazed in amazement, Gargan said in a full, strong voice, that he wanted to get up.
They thought that it was a delirium before death, and tried to sooth him, but he was not to be restrained. He got up and stood erect, walked a few paces and said that he had been cured. The multitude looked on in wonder and then fell to their knees and thanked God that another amazing sign of His power had been shown at the shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As Gargan had on him only invalid's clothes, he returned to the carriage and was wheeled back to the hotel. Soon he was dressed and proceeded to walk about as if nothing had ever ailed him. For two years hardly any food had passed his lips but now he sat down to the table and ate a hearty meal.
On August 20th, 1901, sixty prominent doctors examined Gargan. Without stating the nature of the cure, they pronounced him completely healed. Gargan, out of gratitude to God in the Holy Eucharist and his Blessed Mother, consecrated himself to the service of the invalids at Lourdes.
Fifteen years after his miraculous cure he was still engaged in his strenuous and devoted work. He was for years a living visible testimony of a supernatural healing from God. Lifting the helpless from their cots, aiding the cripples, ministering to the afflicted, he was to be seen, day after day, a living miracle."

Healed of blindness "I am the light of the world."

Here are three testimonies of healing relating to a church in Medjugorje, Bosnia. This is a heavenly place like Lourds, France, or Knock, Ireland, were people have seen the Blessed Virgin Mary appear.
For 22 years Veronica had been completely blind because her retinas were damaged. One night in August 1998, whilst in pain, she began to pray. All of a sudden she saw Jesus standing before her beckoning to her with his arms outstretched. During the vision, she saw a village in great detail, then a mountain with a big cross on top and the village church with two steeples. "I said to Jesus, 'I don't know where this place is' Jesus looked at me, smiled and said, 'Medjugorje!' "
In the morning she told her husband, Alex, everything that she had seen and that Jesus called the place Medjugorje. Neither of them had heard of this place as they lived in South Africa, but a few days later they met a friend who had just returned from a pilgrimage to Medjugorje! He was not merely able to tell them how to get there, but also able to confirm all the details in Veronica's vision. Naturally it was with a great sense of expectation that they too made plans to go to Medjugorje. As they arrived there, Veronica, being blind, was unable to see whether it looked like what she had seen in her vision, but for Alex it was uncanny. All the details were exactly as Veronica had described them.
When they went to hear Vicka speak, (One of the children who had seen the vision of the Blessed Virgin - now an adult woman) there were so many pilgrims that Alex and Veronica were squashed at the back of the group. But as Vicka talked, Alex noticed that she was gazing at Veronica. Alex told her: "She is looking at you!" Then Veronica heard, "she's waving at you! She's smiling at you!" When Vicka had finished speaking, Alex said, "She's coming down and walking toward you! She's right in front of you!" Then Vicka placed her hand over Veronica's eyes and prayed. When Vicka removed her hand, Veronica could see! Leaping for joy and dancing in the street, Veronica cried out in thanksgiving! She, who was blind, could see! To this day she is filled with a tremendous sense of awe at how God has touched her life, and desires to bring to others something of the joy she now experiences.

Healed of Osteoporosis "I will give you rest."

Agnes Heupel from Germany was suffering from osteoporosis, she had had two serious operations to try to help her condition, but her health kept deteriorating.
Her case was diagnosed as acute and her days were slipping away without any hope of recovery. She was in constant pain, had breathing difficulties and could only walk using two crutches.
During a church service in Medjugorie, she suddenly felt a sensation of burning. "At that moment I was not praying for myself, I was praying for my relatives.
Then from the divan where I was seated, I fell to my knees, something I had not been able to do for a long time. This is difficult to explain... not that I saw anything, but in my inner most self, there was so many things going on, as it were in slow motion. I had lost all notion of time. I felt a red hot current running through me from head to toe and all over my body."
Agnes was completely healed, she found herself walking out of the church before she realised that people were saying, "where are your crutches?" Agnes began to weep out of shock, these were the first steps on her own in 12 years. " I felt like a bird flying in the air." She said.
Later, Agnes walked up to the top of the mountain where the Blessed Virgin Mary was said to have appeared "I was the first to go up and to come down. I had neither pain nor cramps in my muscles, something which was not normal." Agnes came home from Medjugorje without her crutches, at that time she was the 292nd person recorded to have been healed at this place in just five years that now receives several million visitors each year. The Vatican, as always, are doing a full investigation of their own, but to this day Agnes shows no signs of ill health.

Healed of alcoholism "He will not let you be tempted beyond your strength"

"My father and grandfather had died alcoholics, and I too was battling this scourge. I had attended may conferences, prayer meetings and had been prayed with through laying on of hands, but it hadn't worked. I had also attended healing of memories seminars. But I wasn't going to give up! I knew the Lord had in mind a complete healing! I arrived at Medjugorie with a prayerful determination, I was going to bombard Heaven. I knew this was a last chance of sorts, as I felt the weight of my alcoholism pulling me towards that slippery slope and satan taunting me, you'll end up like your father! I found myself at Vicka's patio, packed with people desperately trying to speak to her, or get her attention in any way they could. I felt so sorry for her, and thought I won't be a part of this, even though I wanted so badly to have her pray over me. I inched my way over to this area, and leaned up against the railing, closed my eyes, and began to pray. I opened my eyes and there in front of me stood Vicka smiling as she was inching her way up her stairs. I grasped her hands and placed them on my head, folded my hands in prayer and pleaded with my eyes. She prayed briefly over me, and disappeared up the stairs. I felt such a closeness to heaven, a feeling I had never had before or since." Cathy was healed that day - all glory to God! "It was about 2 months before I realized I wasn't drinking anymore, and didn't have any cravings! That was 17 years ago. I have endured tragedies and heartbreak since, but regardless of what crisis I faced I never had a temptation to drink - only a desire to pray."

Come to Me, all who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Mat 11:28)

Jesus Saves Boy

Carlos De Valera from Mexico City was a professor of philosophy who had written many books promoting atheism, but his beliefs changed when Jesus miraculously saved his son from death! The miracle occurred one morning when his son, Miguel, was playing in the garden. His father heard his son cry out:
"I rushed out to find my son and saw the grating, covering a storm drain, had shifted and he had fallen through. I looked into the opening and saw my little boy floundering in the dark water 30ft below. I knew he couldn't swim and I only had minutes to save him. I looked around for a way to help him - and got the shock of my life.
Standing beside me was a dark-haired man with a long beard and soft gentle eyes. He raised His hand and my son came slowly floating up from the drain, into the air, and landed unharmed beside me, he was sopping wet, but unharmed.
The bearded man smiled, His entire being was bathed in light and I knew it was Jesus, suddenly He was gone.
I believe that Jesus wants me to spread the word that I was wrong when I said there was no God. God is real and we should all worship Him!"

"He stopped me from committing suicide!"

Judy Galvereau tells her story: "I lost my husband, Mel, to cancer, we had enjoyed 12 wonderful years together. I was so depressed I couldn't eat or sleep, life seemed utterly pointless without him."
"On June 3rd two months after his death, I took a drive to a remote beach, to end it all. I sat by myself and began to cry; suddenly I began to feel a warm sensation in my body. I looked up and noticed a man sitting beside me; I had no idea where he came from. I sensed I could trust him, he took my hand, but he said nothing. All at once I was pouring my heart out to him. I told him things I had never told anyone, all my pain and loss. When I was finished I sensed a lightness, a peace, that I had never known before. The man rose to leave and I asked him who he was - even though I somehow knew - and he finally spoke: "John 10:14" He said."
"I went home and looked it up in my Bible, it said":
"I am the good shepherd and I know my sheep and I am known by them."

He's been holding my hand all day

A 26-year-old mother stared down at her son who was dying of terminal leukemia. Like any parent she wanted her son to grow up and fulfil all his dreams, she took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?"
"Mommy, I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "lets see if we can make your wish come true."
Later that day she went to her local fire department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Fireman Bob, she explained her son's wish and asked if it might be possible to give her six year old son a ride around the block on a fire engine.
Fireman Bob said "Look, we can do better than that, have him ready by 7am on Wednesday and we will make him an honorary fireman for the whole day. He can come down to the station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, not a toy one, with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots."
Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station. He rode in the different fire engines, the paramedics van and even the fire chiefs car. He was also videotaped for the local news program.
Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible.
One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy spent as a fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition. The Chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the P.A. system that there is not a fire? It's just the fire department coming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?"
About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third-floor, open window. Sixteen firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him.
With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said "Chief, am I really a fireman now?"
"Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand", the Chief said. And with those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the angels have been singing". He closed his eyes one last time.

"You asked why?

Sister Briege McKenna, a Franciscan Nun, is renowned the world over for her healing ministry and her talks on the Christian faith and God has worked many miracles of physical healings through her hands. Although she works within this great healing ministry, she knows that sometimes God asks that we endure our sufferings, through love, for His intentions. Here is a story of one such occasion to which she became a witness.
Sr Briege was asked by a young lady to come and pray with her husband who was dying of cancer. The lady told Sr Briege that she hoped she would not be too overcome by the terrible sight of her husband's face as he had half of his face missing, eaten away by the cancer. As Sr Briege entered the room she looked at Jim sitting on the bed and saw that despite his physical appearance, he was radiating a light from his face - he was aglow with the love of God.
Sr Briege sat and prayed with Jim and he told her of an experience that he had had a few days earlier. Jim had woken at 4am to find his pillow soaked in blood. Not wanting to disturb his wife he went to the bathroom to try to stop the bleeding by himself. He began to place tissues upon the open wound to soak up the blood, but it just kept bleeding. Jim felt very low and began to cry with frustration, he felt desperate and so alone - he believed he was going to bleed to death. He cried out several times: "Why? Why? Why?"
Suddenly Jim felt a presence in the room, he turned to look but no one was there. As he turned back he gazed upon one of the tissues in the sink which had flattened out and in the middle of it the blood had collected together to form a perfect Crucifix. Jim could hardly believe what he was seeing - the perfect image of Christ crucified. As he gazed upon this image he heard a voice say: "Tom, you asked why? You asked why? But when I was upon Calvary, bleeding and alone, rejected and condemned to death, I did not ask why, but I said why not - because I love you."
Tom showed Sr Briege the image on the tissue, which he had now placed in a gold locket. Sr Briege claimed it was one of the most powerful images of Christ's sufferings that she had ever seen. Tom told her that he no longer asked for healing from the Lord, because he had a strong sense that Jesus was asking him to offer up his sufferings and unite them to Christ's sufferings. Sr Briege said she could see the presence of God glowing through this man and although he was not physically healed, God had made him beautiful - "God had polished him like a diamond."

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

I was just commenting on the fact that you like to quote yourself and talk to yourself as if you're separate from the one who started the thread.

This is not a good sign. Go get your head checked.

What other people in the Bible were given name changes?

What did name changes signify in Hebrew life?

What metaphoric object does Jesus give the man in Matthew 16:18-19?

What does this symbolize?

What did they symbolize in Isaiah 22?

What are "binding and loosing"?

If Christ is a High Priest, and we are members of His royal priesthood, what are the offerings of each?

Where all Israelites members of the Royal Priesthood in the Old Testament too? (Hint: Exodus 19:6)

thats why I said, I Love you, and I want you to see the truth...

John 20 says confess your sins
Matthew 22 2 greatest commandments and the rest based on these twos..

Matthew 16: authority and church established given to Peter and apostles..etc etc etc are the things you reject because youre ignorant of the bible..

What other people in the Bible were given name changes?

What did name changes signify in Hebrew life?

What metaphoric object does Jesus give the man in Matthew 16:18-19?

Why are you quoting yourself and asking questions as if your previous post and your present post are from different authors?

Are you really asking yourself a question?

Ugo Festa was born in Vicenza, Italy in 1951. He was struck down at an early age with multiple sclerosis. Gradually his health deteriorated. This led to many other problems in his young life. By the age of thirty-nine he was suffering from multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and epilepsy. Early in 1990 his spine was becoming distorted and he was having seizures daily. He had been continually attending doctors since he first contracted the disease, but they could do nothing for him. He decided there was nothing left to try but prayer.

On the 28th April 1990 Ugo went with a pilgrimage to Rome. In his unfortunate situation he was introduced to Mother Teresa who was in Rome at the time with a group whom he also became acquainted with. Ugo was invited along with this group to a retreat at the shrine of Divine Mercy in Trent, but he refused. On leaving, one of the group, a nun, gave him five copies of the Divine Mercy Image and a Divine Mercy medal.

The following day, on the 29th April Ugo wore the medal and carried in his arms the images to be blessed to the papal audience at the Vatican. At the bottom of the steps to St. Peters the Holy Father passed by. Ugo asked him to bless his Divine Mercy pictures. After blessing the pictures the Pope asked him how he was. Ugo told him he felt very despondent and was at a crises in his life. The Holy Father said "How could you have a crisis with Jesus the Divine Mercy in your arms? Entrust yourself to Him and pray to my Sr Faustina to intercede" With this advice Ugo changed his mind and decided that he would go to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Trent. At the side altar in the Villa O'Santissima Villazzano, Trent, there is a shrine to the Divine Mercy with a life size icon of the Divine Mercy Image.

On the fourth day of praying in front of this icon Ugo suddenly noticed the arms of the image stretch out to him and a tremendous warmth flowed through his body. He found himself standing in his feet, (no longer bound to his wheel chair) with his arms outstretched to the Lord and he heard himself loudly praising Jesus the Divine Mercy. He saw Jesus coming down to him, His white garment blowing as if in a breeze, he thought, "My God, this is the Man from Galilee coming towards me". He heard Jesus say in a clear voice, "Rise up and walk". Ugo began to walk. All his ailments were at that instant cured and he was more physically perfect than he had ever been in his life. On August 19th, 1990, Ugo returned to the Vatican and during a Papal Audience at Paul V1 Hall, he was taken to meet Pope John Paul 11 again, he told him about the great grace he had received and thanked him for the words of inspiration which led him to Trent, and resulted in this great miracle of Divine Mercy. He gave Pope John Paul a copy of the Divine Image, with the signatures on the back of the many people who witnessed the miracle on that day.

Today Ugo Festa devotes his life to Jesus voluntarily working in a Hospital and spreading the message of Divine Mercy throughout Italy.

Ramon Chua, a forty year old Chinese man was kidnapped by Muslim rebels in 1986. He was brought to a mountain of Sampinik, Basilican. Once there, the kidnappers informed him that they were not interested in ransom money. Instead, they intended to kill him. Their hatred was fueled by a land conflict with Ramon's tenants in Kapayawan, Basilican.

On the thirty-third day of Ramon's captivity, he took out from his wallet, a prayer card, containing on one side, the Divine Mercy Image and on the opposite side, the Divine Mercy Chaplet. He began to pray the chaplet, while holding the card in his hand.

Ramon was alone. Yet, after he prayed the chaplet, and as he looked at the picture of Jesus on the card, he heard an audible voice, very loud and very clear: "Run and escape now". Ramon ran, but upon seeing the gate guard, he walked waving his hands and out of his mouth came "Salamay com", the Muslim words meaning "Thank you". To his surprise the gate guard waved back and allowed him to pass through.

Out of the camp, Ramon ran, finding away out of the mountain rebels lair. He was noticed by two rebel watchers and was shot at. He was not hit although the bullets were grazing his body, left and right. Holding the Divine Mercy card tightly, he kept running while the rebels gave chase.

Finally, Ramon ran to the point of exhaustion. He could run no more and so he fell to the ground. The rebels caught up with him but it appeared as if Ramon was invisible, they ran straight past him, despite him lying in front of their path in clear view to all. This, Ramon could not explain, as it seemed obvious that the rebels could not see him.

Eventually he got up and walked until he reached a military check point. He was eventually transported home. When in safety, he remembered the promise Jesus had told Saint Faustina, the Apostle of His Mercy. "I will protect my devotees from their enemies in this life". Ramon's heart filled with gratitude and praise as he realized that in his case, this promise was shown to be truth.
