German buns....


How do you make German buns with the coconut filling and how long do you cook it for?

german bun:
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Mix all ingredients well, roll out and spread with the following filling.

FILLING:

1 egg
2 tbsp. flour (heaping)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat all ingredients, spread on bun dough. Roll up as a jelly roll and slice. Place on a greased cookie sheet, bake at 400 degrees until brown enough to suit.

well i dont think so coz u put baking powder & stuff in it confuse.gif

ahh if u wanted to deep fry it i guess u could change th ingredients abit & make the dough like how u make donuts ??biggrin.gif

I asked for this recipe when I just started on here.... still haven't tried it... I will try it some time this week, hope they come out goodbiggrin.gif... yum.

thats why its baked and not deepfried. just make the dough mixture and roll it out chuck some coconut on there and roll it up then bake that biitch till it wont bake no more! but for real though minus the baking powder im pretty sure deepfrying would be all good. as for the timing, trial and error
