Poly blue airfares

I heard ever since the introduction of Poly Blue, the fares have reduced so much.
I never thought of how low they were until I spoke to someone about it. And the lowest fare I heard for an Auckland return was $1089 inclusive of tax and surcharges.
So I would imagine that before Poly blue, looks like the fares were somewhere like $2000. And I would close my eyes when I think about return fare to Melbourne

Good Lord, is there any other cheaper means of transportation???
Can somebody confirm the cheapest fares to/from Samoa please???
Im thinking that if the fare from Samoa is cheaper than from Aussie, then might as well get my rellies over here other than me coming over. Too muich faalavelaves in our country I reckon

I dont know what to do but thinking of paddling across the Pacific ocean for a change

Yeah you better start saving to buy a canoe to paddle to samoa, cos the air fare is never gonna come down, as you see im walking to work cant afford the petrol. Anyway the airfare to samoa, from sydney direct is around $800.00 return, thats on polyblue.

hi lizzie,
thanks for the post. but i think the 800 excludes the surcharges and taxes which I believe will contribute to the full fare of 1,100 or even more. On top of that I have to save at least 5,000 for the saogameas.
Not counting the money for food for all the relatives here and far who just wanna pop in for a feed.

So saving for a canoe or even the airfare is just a small piece of the huge costs of faalavelaves which we so call culture thangs???? and we have to uphold it???

its just ridiculous, but very hard to avoid.

Check on Internet I'm sure you can get much cheaper fares to Samoa.

And regarding you compraining about da fai fa'araverave so'o of your aiga in 2 da Samoa?

Well mate, how can you call yourself a Samoan if you don't like the fa'araverave? The paragis keep their money in the bank but the Samoans bank their money in their aigas.

That's why palagis died alone and Samoans are burried by mum, dad, mum's sister, mum's brother, dad's second kasegi, kama o le kiga o le kei o le ko'alua o le uso o le afafige o le kuagage o le kuafafige o le great great great grand dad.

E le'o oe o se Samoa pe'a e le osi aiga ma fai fa'alavelave.

I can understand where Lambert is coming from coz I've been there. E kiga le oi, ma le le tagolima ae fai a. Its all becos everyone is doing it and it is not a nice thing to see afakasi children and high chiefs children eating pisupo while we get to struggle and find something to eat or cash to pay back loans.

Im sure you know what I mean. And I dont think we can change that. We just talk about it and accept whatever our forefathers taught us about the Samoan culture and its many complications, if they were meant to be like this, Or maybe life just changed.
Just think about it.
if you have left overs and have satisfied with your life, spare a thought for your poor cousins and aigas in the village who may have as little as a fasi fai for dinner. And maybe the children are looking for dinner around the neirbors. Its just a kind constructive thought we should think of coz the poor people can hardly say a thing nor raise a hand to ask.

Ya bet mate. I walk the talk not talk the walk.
It's all in the matter of proper structure and good financial planning that brings life security. That plus live the life of a true Samoa fai the fa'alavelave and my children never go hungry.
I always love myself first before I can help my family. I never turn a blind eye. I initiate never sit and wait and I always make the first donation and always donate more. I am not rich nor am I poor. I never buy a secondhand car always drive a brand new.

I'm always osi aiga mate ... always. I live in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and always go for a holiday with my children.

So you are in the same predicament with Lambert? Poor you!

Just wanna drop a liitle bit of advice..A smart person would never say: "I initiate never sit and wait and I always make the first donation and always donate more"...I would never want to acknowledge something good I did before. And if anybody is feeling tired with the cost of living, then start paying your costs before you live, its the best way. Fa

Hey sole,

I just wanna say that the palagis are smarter by not having faalavelaves. They may die lonely but at least they don't serve a life sentence of paying out money to aigas that you don't even know, have never met or like. That's why Samoan are always so poor cause too much faalavelave ae leai se money. I just got back from Samoa and I have to be honest and say that in the 11 years I have been away from the place it has not changed a great deal which is really sad to see - way too much faalavelave.

Boy, many more vales and the fia vales are now grazing the streets of Apia.

any you are right bro, ten or twenty years, its pretty much the same. little has been changed. If the faalavelaves were lessened and let the people run their lives normally without too much borrowings, I think it may incurr a bit more change for the better.
Anyway, e pule lava sikafuge i le la o loga vaa. Fai le faalavelave pe leai, e pule lava oe i lau filifiliga.
You choice determines your destiny. If you choose to put all your money into faalavelaves, your children will grow up doing the same thing, and they will never be able to develop their own families and build good developements for their own aigas.
thats my one cent worth........sayonara
